- Dr. James Fava is Senior Executive Director of PE INTERNATIONAL, Inc. & Five Winds Strategic Consulting. He was previously co-founder of Five Winds international
- Regularly leads strategic consulting engagements to help firms identify actions to improve their sustainable business performance by applying strategies, software, tools, and content to enhance their operations, business processes and products.
- Currently supporting AHAM’s refrigerator and portable floor care (PFC) appliance sustainable product development efforts
- Continues to work with associations to improve their sustainability programs (e.g., ICMM, ICA, PCPC, AF&PA, ACC)
- Past President of SETAC; and Founder of the SETAC LCA Advisory Group, which led the global development of the technical framework, data quality assessment, impact assessment, public policy, and code of practice for LCA?
- Headed the U.S. delegation in the development of ISO LCA standards.
- Chair of Coordinating Committee of the UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle Initiative whose mission is to advance life cycle approaches globally; one of the most recent reports was the Global Guidance Principles for Life Cycle Assessment Data Bases.
- Served on the World Resources Institute (WRI) / World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Steering Committee for the Scope 3 and Product GHG Protocol efforts.
- For over 15 years, he has chaired Five Winds' Product Sustainability Roundtable whose mission is to improve the performance of member companies by providing benchmarking and best practice advice.
- Received a PhD in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
- Regularly invited to speak at conferences and forums throughout the world.
