Honouring the best: HyFLEET:CUTE receives SEE Award 2009.
The Sustainable Energy Europe Awards 2009 took place within the Sustainable Energy week in Brussels, February 10. The project HyFLEET:CUTE won the desirable first prize in the category “Communication”. PE INTERNATIONAL is the leader of the corresponding work package.


HyFLEET:CUTE is a project for promoting, developing and implementing hydrogen based energy systems for public transport and is co financed by the EU. In 10 cities all around the world - Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Hamburg, London, Luxemburg, Madrid, Peking, Perth, Reykjavik- 47 omnibuses are currently running on hydrogen in the local traffic.


The project team consists of 31 partners from the industry, consulting and science sector. The working program contains 7 work packages. PE INTERNATIONAL is responsible for the work packages „accompanying studies“ and „communication”. Within the activities for the work package „communication”, PE INTERNATIONAL applied for consideration for the EU organized SEE Award 2009 for the activities within the “communication” work package. The complete project is coordinated by Daimler. The project carries a volume of 43 Mio. Euro, of which the EU bears 19 Mio.


The Sustainable Energy Europe Awards Competition is an integral part of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign and rewards the most outstanding and innovative programmes or actions from the large number of sustainable energy Partners.


Since its launch in 2005, 631 projects have registered as Partners of the Campaign, contributing to a broad alliance of activities and programmes with the common goal of promoting sustainable energy throughout Europe. Each year, the prospect of being showcased as an example of excellence motivates hundreds of new projects to join the Campaign.
