The diagram shows selected results obtained from the collection, modeling and calculation of manufacturing data for both filling materials. The following conclusions can be drawn:
The manufacture of silicic acid/hydrosilicon causes considerably less emissions with the exception of NMVOC and NO2 than carbon black.
With the introduction of the new filling material mixture silicic acid/hydrosilicon, tires will be more environmentally friendly in future. Above all, the greenhouse effect, to which methane (CH4, mainly from hard-coal processing) contributes, and the acidification, to which sulfur dioxide (SO2) contributes, will be minimized.
Most manufacturing emissions can be substantially reduced by using the tire filling material mixture silicic acid/hydrosilicon.
