PE INTERNATIONAL supports the 'renewable resources' field by giving it its own line of action within the company structure, doing justice to the increasing attention and customer interest in the subject.

In early 2004, our family of high-quality LCA databases was updated by including the 'renewable raw materials' extension database. It contains more than 100 agricultural processes in the areas of:

• Fertilisers and pesticides,
• Tractor and cultivation processes,
• Agricultural equipment,
• Cultivation of various crops e.g. wheat, maize, hemp, flax/linseed, rape-seed, soybeans,......

Furthermore, the database has a wide range of intermediate products from renewable resources for industrial applications, such as the production of biopolymers and biofuels. As a result, we have an instrument that can comprehensively calculate agricultural production processes and their environmental impacts.

The corporate, political and economic significance of the benefits of renewable resources, in the context of sustainability, has grown. Consequently, PE INTERNATIONAL has worked on an increasing number of publicly funded projects and industry commissions in the field of agriculture / renewable resources. Thus, complex knowledge and competence is available for whenever an integral examination (regarding the life cy-cle phases, production, use and EoL) of natural products is called for.

PE INTERNATIONAL's structure exhibits know-how and expertise directly on the interface between the 'renewable resources' field and other sectors. This is particularly important since the substantial field of application of renewable resources generally lies in other branches/sectors e.g. in the automobile or the construction industry.
