CONSENSE is an International congress and exhibition on sustainable building climate neutral. It takes place 17 and 18 June 2008 in Stuttgart, Germany.
In co-operation with the CONSENSE organization committee, PE INTERNATIONAL is offsetting the carbon emissions due to conference, exhibition, travel and transport-related activities and climate neutral.
The carbon footprint is determined by PE INTERNATIONAL based on the life cycle database GaBi and internationally established emission factors. Direct and indirect Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the following activities are included:
For the CONSENSE 2008 certificates are sourced from the following project:
The Renewable Energy Grid connected Biomass Power Project in Pudukottai, India
The emission reduction is realized by power input of energy that was produced from local agricultural waste (Prosposis Juliflora, Coconut Residues, Bagasse, Sugarcane Trash, Groundnut Shell etc.) into the national power grid. Therefore energy produced from conventional energy sources is displaced. Alongside the positive impact on the climate the project has a substantial contribution to the sustainable development of the region. It causes additional earnings in an underdeveloped area through cultivation, harvest, transport and sale of biomass, recultivation of wasteland to usable land and promotes the local technology.
